The objective of the SOFT is to exchange information on design, construction and operation of fusion experiments and on the technology for present fusion machines and future power plants. ITER with its demanding requirements is expected to be a major topic at this symposium. SOFT includes oral and poster presentations, as well as an industrial and R&D exhibition. 600 to 700 delegates are expected from all over the world, active in university, research laboratories and ITER construction as well as in industrial manufacturing. SOFT Conference offers extensive opportunities for European industrial companies to establish business contacts, especially within the industrial and R&D exhibition. Therefore a specific “industrial event” focused on the first 4 days of the SOFT, from September 27 to September 30, is proposed. ITER Industry Liaison Officers offer at this occasion the possibility for European industrial companies to promote their skills, establish business contacts and develop industrial partnerships, through the organization of :
- Individual Business meetings between interested industrial companies (“B2B meetings”)
- Presentations from potential prime contractors of the ITER project.
Thanks to the ILO network’s financial support, attendance to this industrial event will be free for companies attending the SOFT:
- as SOFT Conference attendee (600 €, with access to the “Satellite meetings”).
- as exhibitor on the Fusion Technology Forum (with access to the SOFT Conference) :
- with their own booth (entrance fee: 600 € for a 9 m² booth and 2 participants) or included in their national booth (entrance fee for any additional participant over and above the 2 participants per booth: 200 € )
- without booth (entrance fee: 300 €)
